Best watch tool kits
A basic kit lets you resize a bracelet, swap straps and sometimes change a battery at home. Cheap kits work for an occasional job; better tools slip less and are less likely to scratch a bracelet.
What to look for
- Pin pusher and bracelet holder for pin-and-collar bracelets, the most common type
- Fine screwdrivers if your bracelets use screw links, as many Swiss watches do
- Case openers only if you're comfortable; opening a water-resistant case can compromise its seal
Resizing a bracelet
Step by step, including how many links to remove: how to resize a watch bracelet. And to find your size first, measure your wrist.
The picks, cheapest first
Chosen from published specs, prices and what owners and reviewers consistently report. We haven't tested these ourselves. Prices are US list prices as of October 2026 and vary by retailer.
1.JOREST Watch Link Removal Tool Kit
$8Best for resizing one bracelet as cheaply as possible
Includes the core bracelet-sizing set (link remover, holder, hammer, punch) plus spare needles, since pusher needles are the part most likely to bend or snap.
Watch out: Budget kits use soft metal that can bend or break; the listing itself warns that pins pushed against the arrow direction will not come out.
- Contents
- Metal link remover (screw-press pin pusher), pin punch, strap replacement (spring bar) tool, double-headed hammer, bracelet holder, 13 spare needles, 20 spring bars (16-24 mm)
2.SE 16-Piece Watch Repair Tool Kit (JT6221)
$9Best for a starter set that also opens case backs
A long-running low-cost kit that covers link pins, case backs and small screws in one purchase.
Watch out: Expect generic quality; the case wrench and knife can slip and scratch a case if used carelessly.

Sold by a long-established US watch-parts supplier, it includes extras most budget kits skip, such as a band gauge, link-remover pliers and a spring bar assortment.
Watch out: Esslinger's own-brand tools are not Swiss-made, and the page showed inconsistent stock status in October 2026.

$369Best for enthusiasts who want Swiss-made bracelet tools in one case
Bundles Bergeon's spring bar tool, bracelet pin punches and holding block, which are the pieces enthusiasts most often recommend buying individually anyway.

Worth knowing
- Bracelets are usually joined by one of three systems: split pins (common on more affordable bracelets), pin-and-collar (round pins held by a small collar that must be reinstalled), or screws (single- or double-sided). (fratellowatches.com)
- Split-pin bracelets have arrows on the inside of the links showing which way to push the pin out; screwed bracelets have no arrows, and pin-and-collar bracelets may or may not have them. (fratellowatches.com)
- Screw links need a watchmaker's screwdriver whose tip fills the full width of the slot; an undersized blade can damage the screw head. (fratellowatches.com)
- Cheap pin punches tend to break under pressure, and protecting the bracelet (tape over contact points, padding in a vice) reduces scratching. (fratellowatches.com)
- Bergeon's 6744 bracelet holding blocks come in standard (2.2-4.0 mm) and large (3.5-7.0 mm) slot sizes and in hard or soft material, sold separately for about $18. (ofrei.com)
