Casio

Casio is a Japanese electronics company headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo, that makes watches, calculators, electronic musical instruments and other products. Tadao Kashio founded the business as a workshop in 1946, and Casio Computer Co., Ltd. was incorporated in 1957 after the Kashio brothers built the 14-A relay calculator. Watches are its largest business: in the year ended March 2026, the timepieces segment produced about two-thirds of net sales.

Casio entered the watch market in November 1974 with the Casiotron QW02 digital watch. The first G-Shock, the DW-5000C, followed in 1983, and G-Shock became one of its principal watch brands. Its other lines are Baby-G, Edifice, Oceanus (metal watches), Pro Trek (outdoor watches) and the digital and analog watches sold under the Casio name.
