Larry's Watch & Clock Repair recently moved into the Sunnybrook Center in Clackamas after 21 years running a counter inside the Gateway Fred Meyer, part of a history that traces back more than 25 years in the Portland area. The shop keeps an on-site watchmaker and takes walk-ins during business hours, no appointment required.

Day-to-day work covers battery replacement and band sizing, both done while the customer waits, usually around 15 minutes. For anything beyond that, the shop handles crystal, crown and stem replacement (next-day if parts are in stock), spring bar and pin repair, case cleaning and polishing, gasket replacement and pressure testing, and bracelet sizing. They also take on full services and overhauls, including vintage and pocket watches, on mechanical and quartz movements, with named brand experience in Rolex, Omega, Cartier and TAG Heuer. Any watch needing a quote for service gets a hands-on inspection first before an estimate is given.

Beyond watches, the shop also repairs clocks: mantel, wall, cuckoo and anniversary clocks get a free estimate when brought in, with a one-year warranty on completed work. Grandfather clocks are handled with two scheduled visits, one for pickup and one for drop-off, also under a one-year warranty.

Most repairs turn around in three to four weeks, though the shop notes that busy stretches can push that out to five to eight weeks.
