TAG Heuer

TAG Heuer is a Swiss watchmaker based in La Chaux-de-Fonds. Edouard Heuer founded the company in Saint-Imier in 1860 and patented his first chronograph in 1882. In 1985 Techniques d'Avant Garde (TAG) bought a majority stake, creating the TAG Heuer name, and in 1999 LVMH bought nearly all of the company.

Heuer is best known for chronographs. The Carrera, designed by Jack Heuer, appeared in 1963; the Autavia chronograph in 1962; and the Autavia, Carrera and square Monaco were Heuer's first automatic chronographs, using the Calibre 11 movement. TAG Heuer's current lines include Formula 1, Aquaracer, Link, Carrera, Monaco, Autavia and Heuer Heritage, plus the Connected smartwatch, first released in 2015.
