Hublot
Hublot is a Swiss watchmaker founded in 1980 by Carlo Crocco, a member of the family behind Italy's Binda Group. The name is French for "porthole." Its first watch paired a precious-metal case with a natural rubber strap, an unusual combination at the time. LVMH bought the company in April 2008, and Hublot opened its first manufacture in Nyon, near Geneva, in 2009.
The brand's current identity dates to 2005, when CEO Jean-Claude Biver introduced the Big Bang chronograph, which won the Design Prize at the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix that year. Hublot has since developed its own movements, including the Unico chronograph and the Meca-10, as well as tourbillons and other complications.
