Christopher Ward
Christopher Ward is a British watch company founded in 2004 by Christopher Ward, Mike France and Peter Ellis. It launched as an online-only brand selling directly to consumers, with the aim of cutting retail margins and selling Swiss-made watches at lower prices; its first watch came out in 2005. The watches are designed in England and manufactured in Switzerland. Co-founder Christopher Ward left the business in January 2020.
In 2014 the company merged with its Swiss manufacturing partner, Synergies Horlogères, and released its first in-house movement, the Calibre SH21, developed in Biel by watchmaker Johannes Jahnke, with a five-day power reserve and COSC certification. Its growth has been credited to models such as the C1 Bel Canto and The Twelve. It still sells mainly online and by phone, and as of February 2026 also had six showrooms in the UK and US. It was named British Watch Brand of the Year at the 2025 WatchPro Awards.
