Look-alikes that won't fit
These are also 20 mm across, so they look right in the pack, but the thickness is different. They aren't substitutes.

Questions
- Is CR2016 the same as DL2016?
- Yes. DL2016 is Duracell's name for the CR2016 and ECR2016 is Energizer's. All three are 20 × 1.6 mm lithium cells at 3 volts. A BR2016 is the same size with a different lithium chemistry and delivers less current.
- Can I use a CR2025 instead of a CR2016?
- No. Both are 20 mm across, but the CR2025 is 2.5 mm thick and the CR2016 is 1.6 mm. A thicker cell won't let the caseback or holder close, so the watch won't run reliably.
- How long does a CR2016 battery last?
- It holds about 75–90 mAh. In a digital watch that's usually two to five years, less with heavy use of the light or alarm. Lithium coin cells keep for up to ten years unused.
